the web
the time now is half past eleven (ish) and i sit at my desk. two days ago i shifted the furniture in my room and now this desk overlooks the garden. layered in snow, the usual unkempt and uncared for feel of it is overridden. the crisp white feels pure, and i open my window a crack to hear a polite flurry transpire in the near distance, and i am touched by a cold that's not unpleasant. down below, i see my name etched into the accumulation of flakes by my housemate, who earlier called to inform me of his proud artistry. a kind gesture. one that was much appreciated.
i've slathered my face with a skin-care product my friend martha convinced me to trade tkmaxx a tenner for in the hopes of maintaining a tightened and youthful look. my hair is curled up at the ends and now threatens to pass the tops of my shoulders with ease.
currently, i'm procrastinating a pretty major assignment, and when i've concluded this post i intend on either tucking myself into bed and doing it tomorrow or making a hot chocolate, saying BUGGER IT and doing it now. the reason for my writing here now though is to encourage some procrastination from you lovely lot who happen to be reading and i reckon are also biding your time not doing what you're meant to be doing. so let me help you out.
listed below are some websites i happen to have stumbled across on my internet scouring throughout the years. when it seems as though instagram, tiktok, pinterest, spotify and facebook are all that we have, these tiny little gems should remind us that actually? the web is a pretty cool place. quiet, solitary, contemplative, necessary. i hope you like them as i do.
this neat little site allows you to discover what lies beneath the waves, and sink deep into davey jones' locker. it's a lovely way to pass the time by scrolling, while also connecting with a part of the world you have never explored before.
are you a writer like me? are you easily distracted? do you find it hard to coax yourself out of a block? this site, like most time-wasters, is essentially pointless if you want to get something done. however, if you want to practice the art of imagination & creative writing, let the swift time limit take you, and be inspired before it erases your words forever.
if you happen to be as slovenly as a sixteen year old boy starting work in hospitality but wish to explore mother nature from the comfort of your little shitty corner of the world, one minute park is your paradise. from all over the globe, for one minute, be at peace in a park.
it'll preserve it for you, your dreams and hopes for the future. your memory. write yourself a letter and they'll send it to you in ten years time. remember where you were ten years ago? wouldn't you like to hear from them?
crash is what i wish i was, and all that i could be. crash is fucking cool.
alright then, now is the time. i've given you a plethora of things to explore my little magpies, now seek the silver in the sites and explore! and wish me luck on my assignments.
sincerely, the caravan girl.
